WHAT DOES FREEZE DRIED FOOD MEAN ?

How do we freeze-dry our food

Freeze-Dried
Anyone who decides to adopt a dog or cat today, in general, is knowledgeable about his furry friend’s needs. Especially when it comes to nutrition. That’s why Freeze-dried food are so important.

In fact, pet parents are paying more attention than ever to the food they are feeding their pet, looking for natural and healthy products.

Actually, freeze drying gently removes moisture from fresh ingredients without cooking away vital nutrients and flavor, thus preserving them in a completely natural way.

First, the product is frozen at a temperature of -50°C, and then, with a powerful vacuum-seal and very light heating, the water is extracted through sublimation.

When the food has reached a humidity content of less than 4%, it is considered completely freeze-dried.

  • BEFORE

Foods are frozen at -50 °C

  • THEN

With a powerful vacuum and a light heating water is gently remove by sublimation.

  • NEXT

Water present in food is eliminated by sublimation.

  • LASTLY

    The freeze-drying process is complete!

Unlike other fast cooking methods characterized by extreme heat, such as extrusion, the freeze-drying process is very slow, taking around 48 hours, and prevents the elimination of essential nutrients present in the food.

WHAT IS FREEZE-DRYING

How food is freeze-dried.

Whoever decides to adopt a dog or cat today is generally a particularly knowledgeable individual, aware of the needs of their pets, especially when it comes to feeding.

It is not surprising, therefore, that the buying tendency is increasingly focused on products with ingredients that are natural and without preservatives derived from processes that respect the properties of each food.
Freeze-drying, for example, is one of these processes, and with it, you can delicately and slowly eliminate the particles of water in fresh foods without having to cook them, thus preserving them in a completely natural way.

First, the product is frozen at a temperature of -50°C, and then, with a powerful vaccum-seal and light heating, the water is extracted by sublimation. When the food has reached a moisture content of less than 5% it can be considered completely freeze-dried raw.

  • BEFORE

Foods are frozen at -50 °C

  • THEN

With a powerful vacuum and a light heating water is gently remove by sublimation.

  • NEXT

Water present in food is eliminated by sublimation.

  • LASTLY

    The freeze-drying process is complete!

Unlike other fast cooking methods characterized by extreme heat (such as extrusion), the freeze-drying process is very slow, takes a long time (around 48 hours) and prevents the elimination of nutrients present in the food.

WHY

We use freeze-drying

We slowly and delicately freeze-dried our food to ensure that essential nutrients and natural enzymes are preserved. So we create a product that is never over-processed, and therefore, more easily digestible, rich in nutrients and great in flavor. Finally, fragmentation into tiny particles facilitates the digestive processes, making the freeze-dried food very suitable for feeding dogs and cats.

We gently freeze-dried our foods always in small fresh batches to maintain freshness and nutritional value. We carefully select our ingredients before minimally processing them to create products that are perfectly suitable for your pets.
